Wait!!! Did Oprah get a texturizer?

My bestie MelissaChanel pointed out " Ain't no way that's Oprah's natural hair". Check out this photo when the Television Queen first started her career and compare it to her cover on the September issue of O magazine. Yesterday, I posted a blog about Oprah flaunting her natural hair. I was so excited to see the Queen of the World embracing her natural beauty. But today, I have to think twice.

Is this Oprah's real hair?

  1. I can't call it. It could be her natural hair - I know that back in the 80s when my mom didn't know how to care for my hair it looked totally different...

  2. I think it could just be a difference in styling. My hair can get very defined curls with gel, but I can pick it out into a proper 'fro when I want to and you can't see a bit of definition. Or maybe it is untreated, but the curl pattern has loosened with heat styling. Whatever it is, it looks thick and healthy!

  3. I think it could be hers. Length of hair, aging, different methods of styling and stylingproducts can affect hair texture. Her stylist of 20+yrs, once time ago had said her hair was relaxed and there are also other pics showing Oprah's unstyled hair being big and wild.

  4. i believe its her hair. Her hair has been very very well maintained by one person for over 25, 30 years. She is Andre's one and only client. She's post before her hair before blown out and it was super thick and very long. She has always said her hair was her crown and glory.

  5. i'm gonna dispel all the rumors. If you want you can google it but here it is: There once was a time (recent enough) when Oprah's hairstylist was getting flack for saying some women need to tame/relax/soften the curls to increase managability. He does the same thing for Oprah's hair...she doesn't have a relaxer but her hair texture was softened. The hair is, however, a hundred percent hers without a doubt.

  6. Oprah's hair stays pressed, alot, which has changed the texture of her hair. I don't believe its a texturizer and I def don't believe its weave.

  7. That first picture doesn't prove that's not her hair in the second picture. My hair will look like the first picture if I don't take care of it properly. And consider when that was taken. How many people knew how to take care of natural hair properly then if it wasn't braided?

  8. Looks like two strand twist hairstyle to me.

  9. I think her hair texture is the same in both pictures. In the top one she brushed it so curls arent defined. But the hair is NOT kinky. In the bottom her hair is longer and the curls are defined.
