Natural Hair Girls need Love too! Do you get less attention from men since you've gone natural?

Has your boyfriend or husband ever said to you: "Babe, you look so much better without makeup?" or " I don't like it when you wear weave." and then you notice him checking out girls who wear a ton of make up or weave? EXACTLY!

We all know that men are from Mars and women from Venus, right? Or at least that's what the book said.....

A lot of men have started to embrace the natural hair look but a lot are still more fond of the straight look. Two questions: Since you've been natural do you get less attention from men? Did you get more attention when you had a perm or a weave?

I want to hear from the fellas on this issue too? Do you prefer natural or straight? A lot of men say they like to be able to run their hands through their woman's hair but let's be real guys---no sister is going to let you run your fingers through her fresh perm, weave or natural curls. So get over that dream. :)

Brazilian Blowout: HAZARD! STOP NOW!

Today the FDA issued a statement warning against the use of the "Brazilian Blowout" treatment that is used to temporarily straighten kinky curly hair. When this product first hit the market I was hesitant to try it for a number of reasons 1. I thought it would permanently straighten my hair. 2. I thought that my hair would fall out. 3. Cost- $250--really? One of my very good friends has tried the Brazilian Blowout and continues to use it despite all of my objections. Recently the FDA, released a statement regarding this product because of its high level of the carcinogen Formaldehyde.

FDA analysis found that the ingredient list of this product was misbranded (meaning not all ingredients in the product were listed) and tested the product for Formaldehyde. It was found that the product contained 8.7 to 10.4 percent of methylene glycol which can be highly dangerous at a level above 0.1 percent.

Salon stylists and customers experienced symptoms such as: chest pain, eye irritation, blurred vision, headaches, fainting and wheezing.

It is a shame to know that manufacturers will withhold critical information from consumers just to make a buck. What are your thoughts on this story? Have you tried the Brazilian Blowout?
