Natural Hair | Beyonce Flaunts Curly Hair on Instagram

We are Drunk in Love with Beyonce.

If there is anything we love more than Beyonce, it is natural hair!

Beyonce + Natural Hair equals Double Love (Insert Emoji Smiley Face with Heart Eyes).
A few hours ago, the Partition songstress and Blue Ivy Carter's mom, debuted a new curly do on her Instagram.

We are loving it! #Iwokeuplikethis

Natural Hair | Blue Ivy's Hair: Do You Care?

Beyonce and Jay Z have been jetting around since the end of the Mrs. Carter World Tour and Made in America. Their little bundle of joy, Blue Ivy, has been the center of attention and the paparazzi. From her funny facial expressions, Baby North and Blue's meme's to the most recent social media topic---Blue's Hair.

Beyonce recently showed off a short pixie cut and it seemed to be all the rage on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Since then, Mrs. Carter has went back to weave heaven, flaunting a longer assymetrical bob. The attention however has shifted from Mama Bey's hair to little baby Blue. The adorable one year old has a tightly curled afro and not a care in the world but many are outraged about it's maintenance.

The question remains....

Do We Really Care About Blue Ivy's Hair?

Natural Hair | Beyonce Gets New Hair!

Just when we thought there was nothing new under the sun, Beyonce shocks us with a short cut. King Bey is the queen of bold moves, but what has stayed constant over the years, are her long flowing locs. She has experimented with a little color but always came back to golden blonde. The Mega Superstar, who has been called the "Queen of the Universe by Oprah" shared the new hairstyle via her Instagram page late last night. We posted a picture of the singer's new hair on our Instagram page and the reviews were to say the least mixed.

What do you think of Beyonce's new hair?

Beyonce: The Ultimate Marketing Machine

Lately, King Bey has been making major headlines. To the general public, it may seem like a coincidence, but to those who follow the marketing world, we know that it is all calculated.

The former Destiny's Child lead singer was the topic of discussion after infamously lip syncing at the Presidential Inauguration (January 21st, 2013), gave us a 'lights out' performance at the Super Bowl (February 3rd, 2013, announced the Beyonce World Tour " The Mrs. Carter Show" (February 3rd, 2013--just minutes after her Super Bowl performance) and is scheduled to release a scripted documentary 'Life is But A Dream" on HBO (February 16th, 2013).

In a recent interview on CNN, Matthew Knowles (Beyonce's father and former manager) reveals that nothing is released about Beyonce until she is ready. Which undoubtedly, the singer admitted in the trailer for 'Life is But A Dream', where she said "I always battle with how much do I reveal about myself"

PepsiCo, one of the world's largest carbonated soft drink manufacturers, endorsed the powerhouse. This relationship seems to be mutually beneficial, but it's hard to distinguish who/which is bigger?
The PepsiCo brand or Beyonce?

The latest revelation from the marketing powerhouse is a spread in the March 2013 issue of Vogue (on news stands February 19th, 2013). Here is a sneak peek:

No  matter how much she reveals, we always want more.

Hair Braiding: Should it Require a License?

Braiding is an African tradition. I remember as a little girl, sitting on the floor of my aunt's house as she braided my hair. My braided style would last about two weeks and then I was forced by mom to redo it. It was a painful experience because I was "tender headed" and my eyes were always slightly slanted after she was done. The braiding process saved time in getting dressed and my mom never had to worry about doing my hair. Another benefit was that my hair was protected and it grew faster because of this.

As I got older, I transitioned from regular braids to box and micro braids. Box braids were my favorite because they looked edgy and took about three to four hours. Micro braids were more versatile, lasted longer but took about eight to ten hours to complete. Since I have been natural, I have not revisited the braided hairstyles because of the time it takes and the damage it did to my hairline.

Today, the trend of box braids is BACK! Stars like the Knowles sisters ( Beyonce & Solange) were recently spotted rocking their long back to the future braids.

Hair braiding is an African tradition that is more of an art than a skilled that can be learned. In an African American or black community, everyone knew who had the baddest hair braiding skills on the block. A recent law was passed in Oregon requiring that all hair braiders must have a cosmetology license. Veteran hair braider Amber Starks is challenging the law stating that "braiding is a way for African-American women to start to feel comfortable with wearing their hair naturally, without chemicals." The cosmetology license requires 1,700 hours of beauty school and $10,000.

Do you think hair braiding should require a Cosmetology license or is it considered art expressed on an individual basis?

A Look Back at Beyonce's Braided Hairstyles!

All along we were thinking protective styling was just for us non-celebrities. Queen Bey was spotted cradling Blue Ivy in her arms while rocking blonde box braids. If you are a Bey-Stan like myself, then you remember when Beyonce first debuted on the music scene with Destiny's Child in the music video for "No No No".

Beyonce, may have evolved from the girl group into a SUPER MEGA star and mother but she is taking us way back this hair do. Let's take a look at the braided hairstyles of our favorite (or at least my FAVORITE) female artist of all time.....Follow me on Instagram for photos of Beyonce's summer home in The Bahamas (Search "terrinique" on Instagram). Gosh I am such a Beyonce groupie!

House of Dereon Spring 2012 Collection: Kinks, Curls & Waves!

House of Dereon Spring 2012 Collection is Hotter than HOT! Bey might have just had a baby but her body of work with this collection is off the charts! Beautiful colors like coral, shades of blue, olive, pink and beige have my mouth watering!  I have never been a fan of House of Dereon but this line has me thinking twice. Bey's little sister Solange must have been an inspiration for the Spring Collection because its all about natural kinks, curls and waves! Enjoy Ladies!

5 celebrities we wish would join team natural

We all know the effects of a weave or color gone bad but we still love them. Remember that summer you got micros and it pulled out all your sides? Or those bleach blonde highlights that ate away at your hair? Even though weaves and color look great for the moment they definitely have a lastly effect. Many of us, have chosen to join team natural because of the damage caused by styling. Just like us, celebrities get bored with their style and need to switch it up. Which leads me to wonder what celebrities like Naomi Campbell or Beyonce would look like if they joined team natural?

Naomi Campbell

We have all seen the embarrassing photos of Naomi's thinning sides. That was definitely a weave gone bad. This picture captures the natural beauty that is hidden behind the long Indian hair that Naomi loves so much.

Beyonce

Beyonce! Beyonce! I love this girl and really can't get enough of her music but I’m a bit tired of seeing the same old long blonde tresses as she pops her booty on stage. This pic of Beyonce reminds me a little of Tina Turner or Diana Ross….one of the two but I think she would be a beautiful addition to team natural.

Rihanna

It is undeniable that Rihanna is the queen of hair and fashion trends. Remember the asymmetrical bob trend? Yea I know you do. I bet you even tried it. Or her jet black mohawk? When it comes to style Rihanna's got it. She appears to be over her fierce red mane as we recently saw her sport a new do. Rihanna looks fabulous in this afro/twisted wig.

Nicki Minaj

Nicki is definitely not scaaarrreed to change up her look. From bright pink to multi colored blonde Nicki has tried it all. What I would really like to see is how she would look with her natural tresses. She is such a beautiful girl with an awesome voice.

Jennifer Hudson

If one person in hollywood has brought sexy back its Jennifer Hudson. She looked great 40 pounds ago but she looks even better now. Looks like having a baby and a new man has been good for Jen (it usually works the opposite for most of us---referring to weight). I loved her role in "Sex and the City" and " Dream Girls", in both movies she wore a curlier mane. I think her beautiful face would definitely compliment a textured fro.
