Home Remedy: Protein Treatment

Sometimes the best hair care recipes are found in your kitchen. To combat breakage and dryness, we suggest incorporating deep conditioning treatments into your weekly hair care regimen. A lot of our followers on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, struggle with dry, damaged hair. There are two issues that need to be addressed when your hair  is dry and damaged and those are:

#1- Are you getting enough moisture?
#2- What is the condition of your strands?

Incorporating a weekly deep treatment into your hair regimen will help build the health of your strands by repairing damage and restoring moisture.

Try this regimen for one month or 4 weeks and watch a dramatic change in the condition of your hair.

Shampoo hair at least once a week with a moisturizing shampoo. Hair must be shampoo'd before DT is applied.

Week 1- Use a Protein Treatment like the hair recipe above.

Eggs are packed with protein that help repair damaged hair as well as makes it incredibly soft and shiny.
Mayonnaise contains lots of oils and proteins that add moisture, luster and shine to hair.
Olive Oil is a top emollient that penetrates the hair and is great for moisturizing. It contains anti-inflammatory properties that promote scalp health and prevent dandruff. Extra virgin oil is rich in high levels of mono-unsaturated fatty acids and vitamin E, which is an antioxidant important for hair growth.

Week 2, 3, & 4- Use Kurlee Belle Banana Nut & Avocado Treatment to strengthen, condition, add shine and enhance growth.

Banana is rich in potassium and hailed for its moisturizing properties.
Avocado contains fatty acids that nourish, smooth and soften hair.
Honey provides shine while conditioning to make hair soft and supple.
Coconut hydrates, conditions and softens.

Repeat current deep conditioning regimen monthly.

The more you take care of your hair , the healthier and longer it will become.

Do you have a deep conditioning regimen?

Diary of A Fashionista: Fancy vs. Comfy Footwear

Do you wear flip flops or ballet flats under your desk at work?

Do you sneak to the restroom in your comfy footwear and hope that no one notices?

Well I do.

Remember the scene from Sex and the City, where Carrie was forced to take off her Manolo's at a house party? When asked by the host to go shoeless Carrie responded "But this is an outfit!".

No matter how fly I am looking, my comfort is muy importante. Sometimes I will opt for flats or like my boyfriend calls them "grandma shoes" but I feel sexiest in killer shoes. I love pretty shoes but sometimes they hurt....and I love my $40 pedicures even more. I hate to mess up my toe nail polish or worse get a corn or bunion, but as Carrie puts it an outfit is not complete with out killer shoes.

PRODUCT REVIEW: Lexi With The Curls Reviews Kurlee Belle Products

On Thursday evening after boot camp, I decided to wash my hair and do a twist out using some new products I was just gifted calledKurlee Belle.
I received the Almond and Shea Butter Moisturizing Shampoo, Banana Nut and Avocado Deep Treatment, Kurl Defining Creme, Kurlee Tropical Oils Blend, and the Thirsty Kurls Leave-In Conditioner

I loved these products. Firstly, which is most important to me lol…they smell AMAZING! Every product smells like tropical goodness! It made me want to put it in my hair.
The Shampoo didn’t make my hair feel stripped and I was able to detangle my hair with it. I used the deep treatment in the shower for about 5 minutes and then rinsed it out (the directions say to sit under the dryer with it). Once again, my hair felt great!
When I got out, I used the Leave In conditioner and then in sections before I twisted, I used the Kurl Defining Creme. The consistency was good. It had a whipped type of consistency which I love. It didn’t feel greasy or anything after I put it in my hair. I did about 10 or so twists (some were 3 strand twists and one braid…random I know!). I put flexi rods on the end.
Here is the look after I took them out the next morning:

That night, I retwisted my hair adding just a little bit of the Leave In and the Kurl Defining Creme and took sections of the hair and retwisted. The next day, I had fab, big, elongated curls. I used flexi rods on the ends again.
I like it this day even better:

I’m  loving the results for the KurleeBelle collection!!
